Dead Letters
Lost, Found, Cherished...
These are some of the notes I've found scattered around Limerick. I take them home, dry them out, and store them in a shoebox. I've used these three examples as material to experiment with in the dark room. By exposing the various letters/notes onto photographic paper I am able to keep the individual characteristics of the unknown author's hand-writing. Wear and tear, water-damage and creases in the paper remain visible.
The negative exposure of these simple notes and letters give each photograph a ghostly and ethereal quality.
